About the Scholarship

Each year, Merit Resource Services offers scholarships to Central Washington high school seniors that are planning to attend college or trade school after high school. This year, for 2019 we will be offering five (5) $1,250 scholarships. One (1) in Kittitas County, One (1) in Benton and Franklin Counties,  Two (2) in Yakima County and One (1) additional scholarship to the highest scoring essay of the remaining applicants regardless of county of residence. The scholarship is in memory of Howard Kelleher, who passed away in 2005 at the age of 98. Howard was a long-time recovering alcoholic who tried to help others get sober. He was one of the original founders of Merit Resource Services as well as a founder of Sundown M. Ranch and Triumph Treatment Services. Please see your school counselor or click on the Contact Us link to get an application.
