Curious where Yakima locals spend their weekends? A favorite stop is Ahtanum Berry Patch, a five-acre farm tended by Sam and Katie Weaver, the fifth generation to own this historic property. After returning to Yakima in 2001, Sam set out to fulfill a childhood dream of planting rows of thornless blackberries, raspberries, strawberries, and gooseberries. When their daughter Naomi suggested selling berries and baked goods right on the property, the dream took flight.
